WeirBaby - This Week

WeirBaby now weighs a little more than 2 1/2 pounds and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. The baby's muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and WeirBaby's head is growing bigger to make room for his/her developing brain. Speaking of muscles, they are definitely very active now, moving often throughout the day!

WeirBaby's brain is beginning to develop quickly now. That, combined with the newly developed skill of blinking means that it is likely that WeirBaby will have dreams of his/her own now courtesy of the REM sleep WeirBaby can now get. WeirBaby's brain can also now control his/her own breathing and regulate the internal body temperature. WeirBaby's lungs are practically mature now gearing up for the first cries entering a new world. From here on out if WeirBaby decides to come at any time chances are he/she will make it just fine. Course, we want WeirBaby to stay "cooking" as long as possible!!
